The job of ultrasound technician is to check the functioning of internal organs of human body by use sound waves and imaging technology. It is widely used to monitor the health of pregnant woman and the status of her fetus in her womb. Ultrasound technician is found in obstetric wards. These wards need high-tech screening technology to see the status of fetus. Nowadays, sonographic technology is used over traditional radiography. Through this, ultrasound technologist understand the position of fetus in womb and its growth.
Ultrasound tech use transducers and other advanced sound devices, so as to get to know more about interior ob the patient and learn their way of functioning. Through this method, the need of surgeries is reduced. In addition to imaging internal organs of the body and noticing the functioning of heart beat, ultrasound tech can also specialize in field of ophthalmology, so that they can improve their eye sight.
Ultrasound technologist also perform other duties like doing ultrasound examination and keeping the record of diagnosis in their respective area. They are supposed to calculate data received from these machines, so that they can give the right feedback on many areas like prenatal. For this they need to interpret the coded data. By doing this, ultrasound tech can determine that what does the pregnant lady need in certain stage of pregnancy.
