Playing little pranks in the office is a good way to have a laugh, but not really if you are the butt of the joke. If you keep on experiencing being played around by the office prankster, the following will give you some ideas on how to get back at them.
1. Play a prank on their computer. Putting little tricks on the unsuspecting prankster's computer is one of the best ways to get back at them harmlessly.
* Wait for an opening; lunch break is usually the best time to set up this prank.
* Minimize or close all the application windows.
* Using the "Print Screen" key on the keyboard, take a screenshot.
* Open Paint (Start> Run> type "mspaint"> hit "OK").
* Paste the screenshot and save it on My Documents.
* Make this screenshot the computer's wallpaper by launching the desktop's display properties (Start>Run> type "control desk.cpl"> hit "OK").
* Once the wallpaper is set, proceed to hide all the icons.
* Next, take a post-it then attach it to the bottom part of the computer mouse. Make it so that it covers the infrared light or track ball is covered.
Have fun watching your resident prankster click around the desktop as they try to open the icons on their computer, or them trying to make the mouse's cursor move.
2. Play a prank on their desk phone.
* Use an adhesive tape that has the same color as the desk phone. Desk phones are usually colored gray, white or black so it is fairly easy to find adhesive tapes that matches the desk phone.
* Pick up the handset, press the phone button down and then put the adhesive tape to prevent it from springing up whenever the handset is picked up.
When the phone rings and the prankster answers the call, watch in amusement as they try to figure out why the phone won't stop ringing even though they already picked the handset up.
3. Play a prank on their stock papers. Get one paper clip and make a few photocopies of it. Randomly insert the photocopied paper on their stock coupon bond papers and wait for the time when they try to print or photocopy something. Enjoy their flabbergasted expression when they find a "paper clip" got stuck on the paper.
Another classic way to get back at the resident office prankster is to change the arrangement of things on their desk. Hide things from view or change the arrangement from left to right. Take pleasure in seeing them look around for their pens or clips. Making small pranks like this on them would probably teach them a lesson not to make practical jokes on you, or anyone, anymore.
