Teaching is regarded to be one of the noblest professions and teachers are responsible for the early guidance of students and helping them to become able and responsible citizens of a country. A teacher's role is not merely teaching academics, but also imbibing values in a student, which stays with them throughout their life and helps to guide them in their career and helps to build their character.
Teaching is a wide field and hence the job responsibilities of a teacher would depend on the class he is teaching, if he teaches in a school, college, special school, arts, dance, music etc. But wherever he may teach, the primary responsibility of the teacher is to pass on his knowledge to a student and help him in his academic life and career.
Teachers must possess these basic qualities:
1. They must have through knowledge about the subject they are teaching so that they can answer all queries of the student
2. They must have a kind and compassionate nature and help students belonging to all sections, with different personalities, helping them to develop their potential and skills
3. Teachers need to evaluate students by holding exams and grading them, but they must make sure that they do it in a constructive way
4. They need to interact with parents regularly to discuss the child's progress and any suggestions for improvement
