To be an effective an x-ray technician there are many attributes that an individual must have and display in order to perform the duties in the most efficient and effective manner possible. Due to the nature of their duties, an x-ray technician must have a great knowledge of interpersonal relations skills as well as a basic understanding of human behavior. Due to the close interpersonal relations between a technician and patients, technicians have a greater responsibility of demonstrating leadership characteristics than those in other professions. The demeanor and characteristics displayed by technicians has an important effect on the emotional well-being of patients, and as such requires that technicians uphold the highest standards of self-discipline and integrity.
Humility is one of the most important characteristics that a technician can develop and or display to his patients and other staff. Humility is indeed important for any individuals who have positions of influence over others. One of the key characteristics displayed by those who believe in and display humility in their actions, is the acknowledgment that they are not perfect, which will prevent them from displaying an air of arrogance. Arrogance is a detrimental characteristic to display in any environment, and will lead to a development of resentment among others in the area. By understanding and displaying the characteristic of humility an individual is much less likely to develop any thoughts that would lead them to act in an arrogant manner, which can lead to negativity in their work environment.
Individuals who are truly humble and understand and exhibit characteristics of humility, understand their imperfections and are quick to knowledge them. After an individual acknowledges his or her shortcomings, that individual has taken the first step to correcting them, and improving himself. One of the key differences between an individual that understands humility and other individuals, is that the humble individual is constantly seeking to improve himself and develop his or her skills to higher and higher levels. Those who don't understand or display humility are not as adamant about seeking self-improvement due to their arrogance and misleading thoughts about themselves and others.
